Reetta Verho, DI, IWE, is appointed The Welding Society of Finland’s (SHY) Chairman of the Board as of 1 January 2023. Verho has acted as Member of the Board since 2012, the past five years as Deputy Chairman. Since 2017 she has acted as Member of Welding Coordinator Club and Chairman of the Board since 2019. She also acts also as deputy Member of the Board of SHY Lahti.

Verho has an IWE degree in welding and solid work experience in the welding field. She has worked for nine years as Manager, Welding Service Team at Kemppi Oy. Kemppi supplies advanced products, digital solutions, and services for professionals from industrial welding companies to single contractors. The usability and reliability of products is the company’s guiding principle.
“The tasks of The Welding Society of Finland include supporting and developing professional expertise and increasing awareness of the welding industry, e.g. among young people. SHY enables welding professionals to network across company boundaries. This is how we develop the welding industry together. I am very happy that my employer, Kemppi, wants to support and develop SHY's operations and thus contribute to pioneering the industry,” says Reetta Verho, the future Chairman of the Board.
SHY's membership consists of approximately 1,800 welding and thermal spraying professionals and approximately 140 company and community members. The association has 13 local branches. SHY and its local branches offer their members information, support, events and training. Individuals working in welding and thermal spraying or interested in the field can become personal members of the association.
