Kemppi brings to the market the X8 MIG Welder, a multi-process welding solution for future-proof industrial welding. Developed, designed and manufactured in Finland, the solution is enabled by the newest IoT based technologies and connectivity. With new technology, Kemppi redefines performance, usability, and welding management in demanding industrial MIG/MAG welding.

Redefining performance

The X8 MIG Welder is a multi-process system for MIG/MAG welding, stick (MMA) welding, MIG brazing, cladding, and heavy-duty gouging. The solution consists of Kemppi’s unique high-duty and upgradeable power source with an innovatively designed wire feeder, ergonomic welding guns, intelligent software, and a wireless Control Pad for total welding control.

The X8 MIG Welder’s extremely powerful and precise welding arc allows for impressive welding efficiency and quality. The X8 MIG Welder’s intelligent power source and five available Wise processes and functions guarantee optimized arc characteristics for any welding application. In addition to high speed and aluminum welding (WiseFusion), the excellent arc characteristics include narrow gap (RGT), root pass (WiseRoot+) thin sheet (WiseThin+) and low spatter welding in globular transfer mode (WiseSteel). It has extreme power and accuracy up to 600 A, using the most common electrical network voltages.

Redefining usability

Every aspect of the X8 MIG Welder is designed to meet the best usability practices. It has never been faster or easier to change system and welding settings as well as adjust and control welding values. The wireless Control Pad allows the welder to easily find the relevant WPS, view the content on the large 5.7-inch display and activate it to start welding. The system has well-balanced welding guns with ergonomic handles. Innovatively designed wire feeder ensures safe and ergonomic loading of the wire spool and lighting of the wire feeder and welding gun enable working in dimly lit conditions. Tool-free coolant filling unit increases usability even further.

Redefining welding management

The X8 MIG Welder features native connectivity to WeldEye software modules Welding Procedure and Qualification Management, Welding Quality Management and Welding Production Analysis. The X8 MIG Welder introduces the use of smart digital WPS (dWPS) that renders the printed WPSs unnecessary. This revolutionary function improves quality control and ensures that the welder always has the relevant and latest version of the WPS and right welding parameters at hand. By utilizing the wireless user interface, Control Pad, in selecting the dWPS via WeldEye, the power source is automatically set up according to the limits presented in the WPS. In addition, the Control Pad acts as a reading device that collects information for verifying WPS compliance and analyzing welding productivity.
