Boost your welding performance with cobotics

Boost your welding performance with cobotics

Collaborative robots, cobots, have come to the markets with force since they offer lightweight design, flexibility, and intelligence with a reasonable investment. Workers can quickly teach cobots specific welding applications and have them working on actual welding while operators can concentrate on different activities.

Kemppi offers an easy and fast-to-set-up cobot welding solution consisting of a welding machine (incl. power source, wire feeder, welding torch) as a base, compact Digital Connectivity Module (DCM), GX/GF torch holder, and a mobile app Kemppi Cobotics. The DCM module connects the welding machine with the cobot. For the welding machine, Kemppi has a wide range of cobot-ready alternatives. The Master M 353, Master M 355, Master M 358X5 FastMig, and X5 FastMig Pulse welding machines can be hooked up with cobots using the Modbus TCP interfaceFor other interfaces (e.g. EtherNet/IP) an additional converter is required - contact Kemppi representative for available converters.

The torch holder is designed so that the manual welding torch can be fitted to it. It has a quick attachment system so the welder can effortlessly detach the torch from the cobot and switch to manual welding in the workflow. The intuitive mobile app Kemppi Cobotics helps to set up the Modbus TCP interface quickly.

Digital Connectivity Module (DCM) Modbus TCP

Digital Connectivity Module (DCM) Modbus TCP

Product code: 6265051

With the Digital Connectivity Module (DCM), Kemppi’s cobot-ready welding machine can easily be connected to many different cobot brands. Firmware needs to be uploaded separately.

GX/F Torch Holder

GX/F Torch Holder

Product code: W026138

The cobot welding torch holder fits precisely and securely onto a Flexlite GX (Series 5) or Flexlite GF torch. Removing and re-installation is easy and fast due to the optimized shape and locking latch. Additionally, the TCP point maintains its accuracy, and the welding system can effectively be used for manual and cobot welding applications. The torch holder requires a Torch holder arm (W026233) and an adapter flange (SP600634 for Fanuc CRX, ABB GoFa, Universal Robot), depending on the cobot brand.
